If You Give a Bug a Macaroni

Today's snacktime reminded me of the story If You Give a Moose a Muffin. One simple request led to one thing and then another, and another...

If you let Aaron look through the food cabinet,

He'll want you to make macaroni and cheese.

(Side note: how can anyone resist when the box looks like this?)

He won't be able to wait, so he'll start eating the macaroni RAW. (He actually poured uncooked macaroni onto his snack plate and crunched away.)

When you finally serve him COOKED macaroni and cheese, he'll finish his bowl and ask for more.

When you take too long in making a second batch, he'll want to make his own. He'll dig through drawers for cooking utensils...

and he'll pull out recycling trash to use as ingredients.

Later that day, he'll remember how fun it was to "cook," so he'll hunt through the recycling again and find...

Daddy's can of Heineken.

How cute. I love that book. Someone should write one for moms -"if a mom decides to go to bed, she'll see that she needs to do the laundry, then it'll remind her to clean the laundry room, then...etc." Michael still sneaks to munch on raw pasta (yes, he's 11. no, we don't starve him.) Be careful. We let Michael have sips of wine when he was little and now he wants his own glass every time.
