Aaron's First Jack-o-Lantern

We had a pretty good time carving our pumpkin today. That is, despite the fact that Aaron had the attention span of a--well, two-year old.

Scooping out the pumpkin preoccupied him for 15 seconds, but it was fun while it lasted.

Carving frustrated him. He wasn't strong-or coordinated-enough to make a dent.

Aaron refused to pick up the pumpkin seeds he threw.

The fun began when Aaron realized he could shove things through the pumpkin eye and retrieve it from the top.

Look how proud Aaron is of our one-eyed jack-o-lantern.

(I had decided to put Aaron out of his misery and finish the pumpkin during his nap.)

Ta-dah! Complete with a lit "happy candle," as Aaron likes to call it.
