The Return of Spontaneity

Before parenthood, we were spontaneous. We'd wake up on a Saturday, drive up the coast on a whim and end up wine tasting counties away.

Like old times, we left home today knowing what direction we'd go, but not knowing where we'd end up. We took Aaron to downtown L.A. and introduced him to Philippe's, home of the french dip sandwich and showed him their vintage trains.
We thought it would be cool to catch the Metro Gold Line and ride on a real train. I forgot that toddlers would rather play with trains than wait for one.

On the train, Aaron quickly got bored and wanted to go home. Good thing Daddy is so entertaining.

Spontaneity may never go away, but neither does predictability. We ended up wine tasting in the Mission district of South Pasadena.
