My guess is, Arron forgot to put his shoes and since you arrived at school and it was too late to go back home. So Aaron rounded up getting a new pairs of shoes purchased from the Target next to the school. Aaron, that is the way to do if you want new shoes next time.
YehYeh, you are correct! Aden's usually in charge of putting on his shoes and Aaron's usually good about letting us know if he's barefoot. The running joke the rest of the day was, "Thank you for forgetting my shoes, Daddy." We're keeping spares in our cars from now on because sadly, this was not the first time...
